Marc's coaching philosophy is culture and growth centered- fostering an environment of trust, commitment and fearless play. He believes in building a strong team identity where players embrace responsibility, resilience and creativity without the fear of failure. A growth mindset is at the core of his approach, serving as an essential trait for every Grasshopper FC player.
Experience
One of Ohio's most decorated high school coaches in recent history, Marc has spent over 20 years helping develop players and building champions. As the only Head Coach in Ohio High School history to lead both a Boys' and Girls' teams to state championship games, Marc guided teams at Olentangy Liberty (Boys) and Dublin Coffman (Girls) to 4 OHSAA Final Four appearances and Division I State Runner-Up finishes in 2009, 2014, and 2019. Over his career, Marc's 11 high school teams have compiled a 162-31-27 record, earning 9 OCC championships, 8 District championships, and 4 Regional championships. He has also been recognized with over 10 various Coach of the Year honors.
Marc’s coaching journey began in club soccer from 2003-2011 where he coached with COSA EXPRESS and Team Ohio, securing 3 OSYSA State Championships and reaching the USYSA Region II semi-finals in 2009. A former collegiate player at Ohio Wesleyan University and State Champion at Columbus St. Francis DeSales, Marc holds a USSF C License and earned both a BA in Education & Sports Management from Ohio Wesleyan and an MA in Sports Management from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Currently, Marc is a teacher in Dublin City Schools. He is passionate about instilling skills, confidence, and character in every player, while encouraging them to be brave and creative on the field.
